i’ve just installed moneydance on my laptop. it’s a pretty nice personal finance software for the mac, it’s pretty easy to use so far. however. one drawback is that this software is brutally honest. it lists your net worth right there on the homepage. i give myself a lot of credit for not crying. yet.

someday i’m going to develop a new financial software package for pussies like me. it will list your net worth on the homepage, but will also include a message saying “but that’s okay! we’ll work through it! we know you work hard and just want to buy some new clothes sometimes, and that’s not a crime! now go make yourself a stiff drink (you deserve it!) and we’ll come back to this later.”

doesn’t that sound nice?
